The proceeds from the event are always donated to one of Reston's oldest, and Northern Virginia's most successful, non-profit organizations, Reston Interfaith. Reston Interfaith promotes self-sufficiency through support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other services.

2010 race
The swim is in the Lake Newport pool. ¼ mile (400 meters) (11601 Lake Newport Road, Reston)
The bike segment is 12 miles (20 Km) all within North Reston, with police and volunteer course monitors.

The run segment is in the heart of north Reston and will take advantage of Reston's famed pathways for the 3 mile (5 Km) run.

With a family-friendly atmosphere, fast course, and early morning start, the race is always a special event.
